Transport Division
Studies have shown that in the next decade or so the population in the cities of Nigeria wills
double creating more than 11 cities with more than a million people. This
will increase demand for public transport not only in the provision of
services but also in the provision of facilities.
The increase in the population and economic development will place a
services constraint on the transport sector of the economy. Agrigold is
coming in to the market with interstate passenger buses and trucks for
haulage to reduce this constraint. The buses will ply major cities in the
country while the trucks will run from Lagos to some selected cities/towns
in the Northern part of the country.
This division will also have Tippers in Jos and Abuja for hire and for use
by our real estate division when required.
The viability of this division is obvious from the growing demand for
transportation means due to the following factors:
 large increase
in urban population, leading to a proportional increase in transport
trips
spread of urban
areas and longer journeys
greater
availability of motorized transport, resulting in more motorized trips
increase in
household incomes, creating a greater propensity for travel
increase in
commercial and industrial activities leading to increased volume of
service vehicles and freight traffic
Obviously the transport division will be another cash flow centre. This is
more so because of the innovation we intend to introduced. Agrigold Line
will be the transport of choice for both passengers and goods.
